Eligibility criteria 

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria before applying admission to the Master’s programme in Science at YSP University. The details of YSP University PG  (M.Sc) admission eligibility criteria are furnished below:

• Candidates having B.Sc Horticulture / B.Sc Agriculture / B.Sc Forestry / B.Sc Animal Husbandry/ B.Sc with a minimum OGPA of 6.00/10.0 or its equivalent (5.5/10.0 in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) under annual system from a recognized University to degree from a foreign University with minimum of ‘B’ grade or its equivalent
• General seats are intended for bonafide / domicile candidates of Himachal Pradesh and will be filled on the basis on the score obtained in the qualifying degree plus written test to be organized by this University on scheduled date i.e. through combined merit of written test plus OGPA percentage of marks scored in the qualifying degree on 50:50 basis.

Entrance Examination

The written test will be conducted by the university for admission to M.Sc programme. The test will comprise a question paper of 100 marks of 2 hours duration. The question paper will include three sections as listed below.

• Section 1: General Knowledge – 20 questions
• Section 2: Rural Awareness – 20 questions
• Section 3: Specialization (Optional-60 questions)

Selection process

The selection of the candidate for admission to M.Sc programme will be done on the basis of merit of qualifying degree and written test i.e. through the combined merit of written entrance test along with OGPA/ percentage of marks scored in the qualifying examination on 50:50 bases.
