The Vellore Institute of Technology will be organizing the VITREE 2021 (VIT Research Entrance Exam). This exam is conducted to provide the candidates admissions into Ph.D/Integrated Ph.D/M.Tech research programmes. The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of this exam and will be called for interview and those who qualify both the rounds will be granted admission. VITREE 2021 Eligibility Criteria
For Ph.D in engineering:
The candidate must have a Master’s degree in engineering/technology with at least 60% marks (or 6.5 out of 1o CGPA).
For Ph.D in Science:
The candidate must have a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline of Science with at least 60% marks (or 6.5 out of 1o CGPA).
For Ph.D in Languages:
The applicants with Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (6 CGPA) are considered eligible for VITREE 2019.
For Ph.D in Management:
Those who have done MBA/ME/M.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks can also apply.
For Ph.D in Law:
The candidate should hold Master’s degree in Law (LLM/ML) and must have scored at least 55% marks.
For Integrated Ph.D in engineering:
The applicant should have earned Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Bio-Technology with a minimum of 80% marks. The candidate must have a great aptitude towards advanced scientific and technological research. The final year candidates can also apply.
For M.Tech degree (by research):
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology or a Master’s degree in Science/Computer Application with at least 60%. The Master’s degree holder must have studied Physics and Mathematics at their bachelor level degree.
Associate members of the following institute are also eligible for the VITREE 2021, given that they have passed both parts A and B with a minimum of 60% marks:
- Indian Institute of Metals
- The Institution of Engineers (India)
- The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers
- The Aeronautical Society of India
- The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
VITREE 2021 Application Form
The VITREE 2021 application form will be made available online at the official website vit.ac.in. First, you will have to register using a mail id and mobile number. You have to log in using this mail id and the password sent to the id or mobile number, in order to fill the application form. All the relevant details and a photograph and signature will be uploaded in the form. The duly filled form will be submitted along with an application fee of Rs 1121/-. The application fee can be paid through net banking/debit card/credit card.
After filling the application form, the candidate can opt for their examination slot. A link will be sent to the candidates on their registered email through which slot selection can be done. The candidate can select venue, date and time for the test and as per the availability, they will be allotted the exam slot. It will be done on the first-come-first-serve basis and once appointed, no change in the slot can be made.

VITREE 2021 Admit Card and Exam Center
The VIT University will upload the admit card of the candidates on its official website. Those who have submitted the application forms correctly will be able to download their admit cards. The center of the examination will be mentioned in the admit card along with other details. The VITREE 2021 will be conducted in any of the following cities:
Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolhapur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Pune, Vellore and Vijayawada
VITREE 2021 Result and Selection
VITREE 2021 result will be published online. Those who clear the written test will be called for the interview. The final selection of the candidate will be done on the basis of marks scored in the entrance test and the interview.
The applicants are required to send a copy of application along with a research proposal having the name of the candidate, the field of research, proposed work title, research problem, research time-plan, scientific background, research gap, objectives, methodology, novel, and possible outcome. All these factors will also be considered at the time of selection.
