The Meghalaya Board of School of Education (MBOSE) was established by the Meghalaya Board of School Education Act, 1973 in Tura, Meghalaya. In the beginning times, the institute conducting only Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and later Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate(HSSLC) exams. At present, there are 1400 affiliated schools across the state.
