Eligibility Criteria
An applicant’s having qualification as per UGC M.Phil / PhD Regulations 2022 will be eligible to apply for admission to PhD courses. The prescribed eligibility conditions are listed below:
- Candidates having Master’s degree with minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in Technology / Engineering / Humanities / Science / Commerce/ Law / Medicine/ Education/ Management/ Pharmacy of a recognized Indian University, or a degree approved by Association of Indian Universities, or any other equivalent qualification to the approval of Academic Council of the University are eligible to reply.
- Candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Technology/ Engineering / Medicine / any other professional stream of minimum of four year duration after 10+2 or higher duration, with minimum of 70% marks in aggregate and a minimum of 15 years of related experience in recognized University/ Institute/ Industry/ Government Organization, may be considered eligible to apply.
- Applicants, who are UGC-NET (including JRF)/ SLET/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) / GATE/M.Phil qualified, are excused from Entrance Test

An admission information booklet will be available at University Counter at Campus, Administrative headquarter and City Centers by paying Rs 1200/- payable either in cash or through Credit/debit card online through the payment gateway. Aspirants can also download the applications form from the official website of University i.e. www.mriu.edu.in
Entrance Examination
The admission to PhD course will be done through Entrance Test and interview conducted by the university. The written Entrance test will include the objective type of questions of 80 marks. The duration of exam will be 90 minutes. After the written exam candidates have to appear in the Interview held for 20 marks.
The written test will consist of two sections each with 50% weightage as listed below:
- Section A: It consists of Research Methodology and Aptitude
- Section B – Subject Specific
Admission Process
Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance exam followed by the interview.
