Punjab Civil Services Exam 2022: Application Form, Eligibility, Selection Process and Important Dates

Punjab Civil Services Exam 2022: PPSC has released the official notification for the recruitment to 306 posts of Medical Officer (General) in the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Punjab. The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) recruits the candidates for a variety of administrative posts in different departments of the state government. Candidates can either apply for the post of deputy collector or can join the police department as DSP. The PPSC conducts the examination in various processes and there is a specific eligibility criterion to take part in the examination process.

Punjab Civil Services Exam Application Form 2022

To take part in the examination or the selection process candidates need to apply thru the application form. The application form will be available on the official website of the commission.

  • Applicants will provide all the details in the application form such as the name, address and the details of the educational qualification.
  • Candidates will also upload the scanned photo and signature in the application form.
  • There will be an application fee for the application fee. Candidates can apply the application fee thru the Credit card, debit card or net banking.
  • There will be application fee which candidates will pay thru the online mode such as credit card, debit card or net banking.

Punjab Civil Services Exam Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates need to be the citizen of India, Bhutan or Nepal.
  • The applicants must have completed the graduation from any recognized institute.
  • The age of the applicants must not be more than 37 years and not less than the 21 years.
  • Candidates must have attained the age of 28 years for the post of Deputy Superintendent Police in the Punjab Police Service.

Punjab Civil Services Exam Pattern

The Preliminary Competitive Examination will consist of two papers as given below:

  • Paper-I will be of the General Studies and the Paper –II will be of the Civil Services Aptitude Test.
  • The Preliminary Competitive Examination is commenced to screen suitable candidates for the Main Examination.
  • Marks obtained in the Preliminary Competitive Examination by the candidates are not counted for the final ranking.

Main Examination: 

  • The main examination will consist of written examination and a viva voce (interview) test.
  • The written exam will be of descriptive nature.
  • The written examination will consist of nine papers of conventional essay type in various subjects.
  • Candidates equal to 13 times the number of vacancies may be declared eligible to take Main Competitive Examination.

Punjab Civil Services Selection Process

Punjab Public Service Commission’s (PPSC) Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination Selection Procedure is given below.

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in Preliminary Competitive Examination; and Main Competitive Examination (written and viva voce).

Preliminary Competitive Examination

  • The Preliminary Competitive Examination will consist of two papers i.e. Paper-I General Studies and Paper –II Civil Services Aptitude Test.
  • Candidates equal to thirteen times of the total number vacancies may qualify for the Main Competitive Examination.
  • All candidates are required to appear in both papers including Ex-servicemen candidates i.e. Paper I and Paper II of the Preliminary Competitive Examination are compulsory.

Main Examination

  • The main examination will consist of written examination and a viva voce (interview) test.
  • The main Examination is intended to assess the overall intellectual traits and depth of understanding of candidates rather than merely the range of their information and memory.
  • A total number of questions in the question papers of optional subjects will be eight. All questions will carry equal marks.
  • Each paper will be divided into two parts, viz. Part A and Part B, each part containing four questions.
  • The main competitive examination shall include compulsory and optional subjects and every candidate shall take all the compulsory subjects and two of the optional subjects, except for Ex-servicemen candidates, who are exempted from taking optional subjects.

Note:

  • No candidate shall be eligible to appear in the viva voce test unless he obtains 45 percent marks in the aggregate of all subjects including at least 33 per cent marks in Punjabi (in Gurmukhi Script).
  • Provided that if at any main competitive examination a sufficient number of candidates do not obtain 45 percent marks in the aggregate, the Commission may at its discretion lower this percentage to not below 40 percent, but the percentage for the language paper i.e. Punjabi in Gurmukhi Script shall remain unchanged.

 Punjab Civil Services Exam Admit Card 2022

  • The admit card will be available on the official website of PPSC.
  • The website will have the details of the examination such as date, timing and the venue of exam.
  • There will be separate admit card for the Pre and Main examination.
  • Candidates can download and take the printout of the admit card.

Punjab Civil Services Exam Result 2022

  • The result of the examination will be announced respectively.
  • Candidates will get the result on the official website.
  • The Pre exam result will be announced first. Those, who qualify the pre-examination, will be eligible to appear in the main examination.
  • After the commencement of the main written exam and the interview, candidates will get the result of the main examination, actually the final result on the official website.
