WBCS 2023 Application Form
Candidates who are eligible can fill and submit WBCS 2023 application form through online mode. There is an one time registration required to apply for various posts released by West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC). Multiple registrations may lead to cancellation of your candidature.
Here are the steps discussed for WBCS 2023 one time registraion:
Step 1: You need to visit the official website of WBCS https://wbpsc.gov.in/.
Step 2: Click on one time registration available at right side on home page.

Step 3: In the new page you will be asked to enter details like your mobile number, password, email ID, name, date of birth, father name, and mother name.

Click the register button and your registration is successful. You can apply for various posts under West Bengal Public Service Commission with one time registration only.
Now you need to login to the official website of West Bengal Public Service Commission by entering your enrollment number and password created during registration.

Enter your personal and educational details such as class 10 marks, class 12 marks, graduation marks, full name, address, date of birth etc.
Now upload scanned copy of your signature and photograph.
Verify all detailed entered in your application and submit the same.
WBCS 2023 Eligibility Criteria
There are some points of the eligibility criteria which each candidate need to fulfill to be eligible to apply for the West Bengal Civil Services Examination. Check below WBCS 2023 eligibility criteria:
Nationality
- Candidates should be able to read, speak and write in Bengali. This rule is not applicable to the candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali.
- Candidates should be a citizen of India.
- Such other nationals who are declared eligible by the Govt. of India may apply.
Educational Qualification
He must have completed the graduation or any other equivalent three years’ degree from a recognized institute.
Age Criteria
The age criteria are as follows, please have a look:
- For Group A, C: Candidates’ age should not be less than 21 years and should not exceed 36 years as on 1st January of the year of examination. It means the candidate should be born not before than the 2nd January, 1986 and not after than the 1st January, 2001.
- For Group B: Candidates’ age should not be less than 20 years and should not exceed 36 years as on 1st January of the year of examination. It means the candidates who are born not before than the 2nd January, 1986 and not after than the 1st January, 2002 are eligible. Those candidates are born in between the 1st January,2001 & the 1st January, 2002 are also eligible to apply.
- For Group D: The age of a candidate should be in between 21 to 39 years.
Age Relaxation: Candidates of SC/ST category can get the relaxation in age by 5 years, whereas, OBC category candidates can get relaxation by 3 years. In case of PwD category, age relaxation can be availed up to 45 years.
WBCS 2023 Exam Pattern
There will be three stages of the examination and candidates have to qualify each part of the examination separately. Here are the details about all the stages of the West Bengal Civil Services Examination.
- Candidates will have to appear in a preliminary test (written) first. All the questions will be objective type only.
- Thereafter, they have to appear in Mains exam. Both objective, as well as descriptive type questions, will be asked in this section.
- Only after getting qualified in preliminary exam, candidates would be allowed to appear in Mains. Further, all Mains qualified candidates will be invited to attend the personality test.

WBCS 2023 Selection Process
Here are the details shared regarding WBCS selection process:
- The selection of the candidates will be on the basis of performance of the candidates in all the three stages of the exam process- prelims, mains and personality test.
- After qualifying the pre-exam, candidates will be invited to appear in the main exam.
- The mains exam will consist of both objective & descriptive type questions.
- The last part of the selection process will be the personality test and after qualifying it, candidates will be finally selected for the posts.
WBCS 2023 Admit Card
- Candidates will be able to download their WBCS 2023 admit card for the prelims exam after the submission of their application form.
- There will be separate admit cards for the separate level of examination.
- It will be necessary for all the applicants to bring the admit card at the examination center or else candidate’s candidature will be canceled.
WBCS 2023 Result
- WBCS 2023 result will be announced on the official website of West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC).
- Candidates will get the result of the examination separately viz. Prelims, Mains, and personality test.
- After the personality test is conducted, the commission will announce the final result.
