Required Eligibility Criteria for HPSET 2021
The interested candidates must have scored at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from affiliated university/institutions acknowledged by University Grant Commission in Humanities (including languages) and social sciences, electronic science, computer science & applications, etc. In case of reserved categories like SC/ST/PWD applicants required marks are 50% to apply for HPSET 2021.
Applicants who are pursuing in Master’s degree programme can also apply for HPSET 2021. These applicants will be admitted temporarily and will be treated as eligible for Assistant Professor’s post in the universities or colleges situated in the state. This will occur only after qualifying Master’s degree or equivalent examination with at least of 55% scores (50% for candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PWD).
These interested applicants must have done their PG degree examination within 2 years from the date of SET 2021 results with eligible score, otherwise applicant will be considered as disqualify.
SLET/ NET/SET will be remained minimum eligibility criteria for condition and appointment of Assistant Professor in universities/ institutions/ colleges.
For SET applicants
The applicants who have qualified SET organized by UGC for Assistant Professors conduct prior to 1st June 2002 are excused for appearing NET being eligible to apply for Assistant Professor(s) anywhere in country.
Required age Limit- for SET 2021 there is no age limit.
SET 2021 Exam Pattern
The examination will comprise 3 papers and all the papers will consist of MCQ type questions. SET 2021 will suppose to be held in the month of March/April 2021 same day with 2 sessions.
Paper 1 – This paper comprises 100 marks and the time duration of this paper is 1 hour and 10 minutes Paper 2 – This paper comprises 100 marks and the time duration of this paper is 1 hour15 minutes
Paper 3– This paper comprises of 150 marks and the time duration of this paper is two and half hours
HPSET 2021 important dates (tentative)
- Starting of registration process: November 2021
- End date of submission of application form: December 2021
- HP SET 2021 examination date: March/April 2021

How to Apply for SET 2021?
The interested and eligible candidates can apply through online by visiting official website i.e. www.hp.gov.in/hppsc. Applicants will be able to obtain the detailed information regarding filling up the application form from the above listed website address.
SET 2021 Application Payment Mode
The applicants can make the payment of application fee either through e-payment or through e-challan. Candidates can pay it at any branch of PNB via e-challan.
Once the payment has been made, applicants have to again visit the official website which is www.hp.gov.in/hppsc in order to access the home page of online application filling system by typing user ID and Password.
After that the applicants need to click on link of fee details and provide the details of branch name/code, transaction number and deposit date and then on the update fee details.
