GTU PhD Admission 2021: Applications will be invited by Gujarat Technological University (GTU) for admission to PhD program in the field of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, and Computer Science through entrance test for academic session 2021-2022. Interested and eligible candidates may apply online as per given schedule.

Eligibility Criteria for GTU PhD Admission 2021
For full –time Phd programme
- Candidates seeking admission to the regular Ph.D. programme should hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent professional degree scoring minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
- Applicants holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Management with minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale have to submit a certificate stating that their Two Year Full-Time Postgraduate Diploma in Management has been associated with MBA Degree for the reason of admission to Phd.
- There will be a relaxation of 5% of marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade for candidates belonging to SC/ST/SEBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled category.
For part time Phd admission
Candidates with full-Time teachers of University Departments/ Colleges affiliated to the University or any working employee of institution of higher learning in Gujarat/ Full-Time persons working at R&D Departments/ Units of Government/Quasi Government / National Laboratories or any other research laboratories or are sponsored by the particular company, having at least two years of relevant experience, are eligible to apply under Part-Time Ph.D. course. However, they have to fulfill the important eligibility norms.
Exemption from appearing the test
Candidates who are Teacher fellowship holder or already qualified UGC- NET / CSIR NET / JRF / SLET / GATE / GPAT with valid scores are exempted from appearing in the Phd Admission Entrance exam.
Reservation criteria
The seats will be reserved for the applicants from SC/ST/OBC category of Gujarat origin only. The percentage of seat reservation is as follows:
- 7% for Scheduled Castes (SC)
- 15% for Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- 27% for Socially & Economically Backward Class- SEBC (Non-creamy layer)
Application Form: How to apply
- Applicants seeking admission into the Ph.D. Programme will submit the single online application form available on official university’s website i.e. www.gtu.ac.in.
- Candidates must ensure their eligibility criteria before they start filling the application form.
- Fill the form very carefully with accurate details.
- Candidates are needed to submit the required application fee of Rs. 1200/ (1000/- for candidates from SC / ST / SEBC / Differently-Abled Category) through SBI online payment mode. Please Note that Application fee is not refundable in any case.
- After successful submission of the online application form, a system generated application number will be given to the candidate. Candidates are advised to keep safe this number for further reference.
- The candidates are needed to take print out of the filled Application Form which has be to duly signed by them and will attach self-attested necessary certificates and a copy of Bank Challan receipt, etc. and must be produced during Research Proposal Presentation.
- Application received after the last date will not be entertained and University will not be responsible for any delay at any condition.
Examination Pattern
The Entrance Test for GTU PhD admission 2021 will consist of two parts of Multiple Choice type Questions. There will be no negative marking in this entrance test. Total duration for Part I and Part II will be 2 hours.
Part 1:
- It will include 50 questions for 50 marks.
- Each right response will be rewarded with 1 mark.
- Questions will be based on Research Methodology
Part 2:
- This section will include 50 questions for 50 marks
- Questions will be based on Subject Specific Paper.
Admission Process
The selection of candidates for GTU Phd admission will be based on Entrance Test followed by Research Proposal Presentation.
