Founded in 2004, Government Medical College, Haldwani previously known as Uttarakhand Forest Hospital Trust is an independent, non-profit organization imparting an affordable, accessible, and high quality comprehensive health care, education and socio-economic improvement system that satisfy the needs of people in Uttarakhand, through superiority in training, education, clinical medicine, expansion, research, and health-care leadership. Bachelor of Medicine and bachelor of surgery- 4 year and 6 months

Eligibility criteria:

• Candidate must have done the Higher Secondary examination or its correspondent in the first attempt.
• They should have last two years of such study with Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English and have obtained minimum of 60% marks in English and not less than 60% marks in aggregate for Biology, Chemistry and Physics put together.
• The aspirant must also have successfully qualified UPMT or other state government PMT or CPMT test with a minimum of 50% marks.

Admission procedure at Government Medical College, Haldwani

For undergraduate courses, selection is truly done on the basis of merit obtained by candidates in either of the two competitive exams: the All India Pre Medical Test and the Uttarakhand Pre-Medical Test (UPMT). 15% of the selection is made through the All India Pre-Medical Test, whereas 85% seats are filled up by a state level exam.

The same involves for PG courses – 50% Post Graduate seats are filled via the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination whereas the rest of 50% are filled via a state level entrance exam.
