National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is likely to release the official notification regarding FDST 2022 in the last week of October 2022, while the exam has been scheduled to be conducted on 17th December 2022. Foreign Dental Screening Test is a screening test for Indian citizen or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) having a primary dental qualification/PG Diploma/Post Graduate Dental qualification awarded by any dental institution outside India and they are willing to register with any State Dental Council or of any other purpose as specified by the Dental Council of India. FDST 2022 Eligibility Criteria
It is essential to meet the criteria said below to become eligible for FDST 2022:
Nationality: Indian citizen or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are eligible to apply.
Educational Qualification: A candidate should have a primary dental qualification/PG Diploma/Post Graduate Dental qualification awarded by any dental institution outside India
Note: Only eligible candidates are permitted to apply for FDST 2022. At any stage, if a candidate is found ineligible his/her candidature stands cancelled by the concerned authority.
FDST 2022 Exam Pattern
Have a look at the exam pattern of Foreign Dental Screening Test:
- Foreign Dental Screening Test (FDST) will be held as a pen-paper based test.
- There will be two question papers.
- The exam duration for Paper 1 is 120 minutes, while it is 180 minutes for paper 2.
- The language mode of the question paper will be English only.
- There will be only multiple-choice questions in the exam.
- Paper 1 will comprise of 100 questions while paper 2 includes 150 questions in total.
- 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer.
- There will be no negative marking in the exam.
No grace marks would be provided. It is compulsory to score 50% individually in each paper to get qualified for appearing in viva-voice examination.
MDS/PG Diploma: The Viva Voce examination will be of 50 Marks and candidates have to score at least 50% in the viva-voce examination.
There are no restrictions in number of attempts that can be availed by a candidate.

Paper – II: Paper 2 Specialty questions in respective subjects – 150
FDST 2022 Admit Card
FDST 2022 admit card is likely to release in December 2022. Candidates are informed through SMS/Email for the availability of admit card at NBE official website however, it won’t be shared through post/Email.
Candidates can download their respective admit card from the official website of National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) and affix their latest passport size photograph in the space provided. It must meet the specifications as shared below:
- The size of the photograph should be at least 35×45 mm with minimum 75% area on the photograph should be occupied with the face & head of the candidate.
- Only color photograph with white background will be accepted,
- No Caps, Stethoscope, Goggles, Ornaments should be worn.
- The photograph does not contain kinks, scratches and stains.
Candidates MUST bring the following documents while coming to the test centre:
Printed copy of Barcoded/QR Coded Admit card with his/her photograph pasted on it
One of the following Govt issued photo IDs (must be original and valid/non-expired):
- Driving License
- PAN Card
- Voter ID
- Aadhaar Card (with Photograph)
- Passport
FDST 2022 Result
FDST 2022 result will be published online at the NBE official website.
A candidate will be declared pass only if he/she scored 50% marks in each paper individually to become qualified for taking the viva-voce examination.
The viva-voce examination will be conducted for 50 marks out of which a candidate has to score minimum 50% i.e. 25 out of 50.
Re-evaluation or rechecking or re-totaling is not allowed.
FDST result for MDS/PG Diploma is likely to be announced by January 2022 at the official website www.natboard.edu.in and www.nbe.edu.in.
