Eligibility Criteria for Birsa Agricultural University PG Admission

For Doctoral courses

  • Candidates having Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry/ Agriculture/Forestry; with at least OGPA (overall grade point average) of 6.00/10 or 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent percentage of marks at Master’s degree courses are eligible to apply. An applicant can apply for the Doctoral course only in the main area of study at Master’s degree level.
  • Merit list of candidates will be made in 10 point scale on the basis of their overall grade point average (OGPA) scored at Master’s level
  • Candidates, who have published original research papers in standard scientific journals, will granted a relaxation of 5% in percentage marks.
  • Applicants, who are appearing in final year examination, can also apply provided they must submit required certificates at the time of counseling followed by admission.

Eligibility Criteria for Master’s Programme

  • Applicants, who have done a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (4 years course), Forestry (4 years course) and Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (5 years course) for admission to M.Sc. (Ag.), M.Sc. (Forestry), and M.V. Sc Programme respectively may eligible to apply. However, in case of admission to M.Sc. (Bio-tech), candidates should have done B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology.
  • Candidate should have obtained at least overall grade point average (OGPA) and subject grade point average (SGPA) of 6.00/ 10.0 or minimum 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent percentage of marks in aggregate (for SC/ST candidates 5.50 /1 0.00 OGPA /SGPA or equivalent percentage of marks) at qualifying examination is required.
  • Candidates, who are appearing in final year examination, can also apply provided they must submit required certificates at the time of counseling followed by admission.

Residential Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to Master’s degree Programme to any stream should satisfy the residential requirement for Jharkhand state as mentioned below. On the other hand, the seats of Doctoral courses are open to all eligible applicants and the residential criteria are not applicable. The applications for admission in Master’s degree courses will have to affix a residential certificate to qualify the obligation of admission.

Reservation Criteria

Reservation of seats will be as per the Jharkhand government policy and will be followed in alphabetical cyclic orders of the Post Graduate Department in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Forestry, Agriculture, and Biotechnology.

Birsa Agricultural University PG Application Form: How to apply

Interested and eligible candidates can obtain the Application Form and Prospectus in person as per scheduled date and during office hour from the office of the Registrar, Birsa Agricultural University, Kanke, Ranchi – 834006, on the payment of Rs.50/ (Cash only). Candidates must fill the application form carefully and submit the duly filled form along with processing fee (non-refundable) of Rs.1000/- for General /BC-I / BC-II candidates and Rs.500/- for applicants from ST/SC category in the form of Bank Draft from any nationalized Bank payable to Comptroller, Birsa Agricultural University, Kanke, Ranchi-834006 on or before due date.

The application form can also be downloaded from the official website of university i.e. www.baujharkhand.org and must be submitted along with the necessary application and processing fee in the form of bank draft, payable to the Comptroller, Birsa Agricultural University, Kanke, Ranchi -834006.
