IMU CET 2022: Application Form(From 29 March), Exam Date, Eligibility

IMU CET 2022 application form has been released on 29th March 2022. The Indian Maritime University annually conducts Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission into various UG and PG programmes in marine technology offered by it. The UG & PG programmes include- B.Tech (Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering), B.Sc (Maritime Science, Nautical Science, Ship building and Repair), M.Tech (Marine Engineering and Management, Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Dredging and Harbor Engineering), MBA (Port and Shipping management, International Transportation and Logistics management)and M.Sc (Commercial Shipping and Logistics) respectively. In order to be eligible for the admission into IMU or its affiliated Institutes, candidates will have to clear the IMU CET 2022. Admission to BBA will be done on the direct basis by the University. IMU CET 2022 Admission Highlights 

• Students can apply for the entrance exam only via online mode. No other mode will be entertained by the university.
• Interested candidates can fill the application form till 17th January 2022.
• Candidate must possess a valid Email ID and phone number for further future communications.
• Candidates should keep the following scanned copies ready while filling the form – Photograph, Signature, Class 10^th Marksheet, Class 12^th Marksheet/Certificate, SC/ST/NCL-OBC certificates (if applicable), other certificates (wherever applicable).
• The admission will be based on the merit scored by a candidate in the respective CET for UG, MBA and M.Tech.
• The admission to the BBA program will be done on the direct basis by the university.
• Candidates belonging to Andaman and Nicobar Islands will need to give a separate CET for UG programs. The exam will be conducted by the Andaman Administration on behalf of IMU.

IMU CET 2022 Application Form

Candidates can now fill and submit IMU CET 2022 application form via online mode from 29th March 2022 through the official website of Indian Maritime University. They will need to enter their particulars in the form very carefully as no correction window will be provided once the form is submitted successfully. Applicants need to upload the scanned documents as asked in the upload section and then move toward the payment section to pay the required application fee. They can refer the details on the application fee as mentioned below for quick reference. Admission to BBA will be based on the marks obtained by a candidate in class 12^th or its equivalent. Hence, BBA aspirants need not give IMU CET 2022.

Candidates interested in pursuing the BBA program form IMU need not give IMU CET 2022 and only register for it via online mode. For successful registration, they must pay the application fee as mentioned below-

IMU CET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Age Criteria: Varies from program to program.

Relaxation: Reserved category candidates will be eligible for five (5) year age relaxation.

Marital Status: Only Unmarried candidates can appear for the exam.

Qualifying Examination for UG programs: A candidate must have qualified any of the given examination for admission into UG programs offered by IMU-

1. The final examination of the 10+2 system as recognized by Central/State Board
2. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
3. Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services wing of the National Defence Academy.
4. General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/ Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
5. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
6. S.C vocational examination.
7. Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
8. Any Public School/Board/University examination in India or in any foreign Country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by AIU.
9. A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3 year duration. (For Lateral Entry Admissions)

For MBA:

• Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have qualified bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
• Minimum Marks: Candidates must have obtained minimum 50% aggregate marks and scored 50% marks in English Subject in 10th/12th/ UG Degree.

For M.Tech:

• Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have cleared their graduation or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
• Minimum Marks: Candidates should have obtained minimum 60% aggregate marks.

IMU CET 2022 Exam Pattern

Exam Type: Computer-Based

Total Number of Questions:

• For UG: 200 Questions
• For MBA: 120 Questions
• For M.Tech: 120 Questions

Marking Scheme: +1 mark for each right response.

Negative Marking: No Negative Marking

IMU CET 2022 Syllabus

• For UG programs: Candidates must prepare from these subjects -English, General Aptitude, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The syllabus will as per 10+2 level.
• For MBA: Candidates must prepare from these subjects – Quantitative ability, Data interpretation, Verbal ability and Logical reasoning.
• For M.Tech: Candidates must prepare from these subjects – English, Mathematics and one of Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering/Civil Engineering.

IMU CET 2022 Result

Applicants will be able to check their IMU CET 2022 result by visiting the official website. The authority will intimate the students through SMS/Email once the result is announced. Hence, they must keep themselves updated. The result will be announced in form a merit list. The applicants who cleared the exam will further be eligible for the counselling process. IMU CET 2022 Counselling

On clearing the entrance test, candidates will be informed about the counselling procedure. Candidates can choose their preferred course on the basis of rank obtained in the merit list. Students will need to bring all the relevant documents at the allotted centre for verification purpose. They need to clear a physical fitness test in order to be eligible for the admission. Once clearing the physical test, they need to pay the course fee and complete the admission related formalities.
